Self-Drive Safari Adventures
Self-drive safaris are extremely popular in Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe. Planning a self-drive adventure allows for customized routes and stops, giving your group the freedom to explore at your own pace while enjoying the sights and sounds of the African wilderness. We have both fully equipped vehicles for camping, and non-equipped vehicles if you would prefer to do a lodge-to-lodge itinerary, or perhaps mix it up and combine camping with some lodge stops along the way!

Lodge to Lodge fly-in Safaris
With the majority of the Okavango Delta camps and lodges only being accessible by air, you have the choice of either flying by light aircraft, or taking a helicopter transfer. Either way, getting to see the Okavango from the air is a stunning way to start your fly-in safari. These air transfers link the whole of Northern Botswana, lodge to lodge, including properties in the Central Kalahari, Makgadikgadi, Nxai, Okavango, Linyanti, Savuti, Maun and Kasane. With lodges ranging from around USD400 per person per night and upwards beyond over USD4000 pppn there is something for everyone!
Exciting Adventure Activities
Aside from the quintessential safari game drives, enhance your safari experience with our exhilarating activities.

Guided Walks
Experience the thrill of exploring Botswana's diverse landscapes on foot. Our guided walks provide an intimate connection with nature, allowing you to engage with the environment in a unique way. Led by knowledgeable guides, these walks offer insights into the flora and fauna, and the opportunity to observe wildlife up close.
Whether you are traversing the lush wetlands of the Okavango Delta or the arid terrain of the Kalahari Desert, each step leads to new discoveries and unforgettable memories. Walking excursion options extend from a few hours through to multi-day safaris.

Scenic Flights
Helicopter doors-off scenic flights are just one of the fabulous activities available where you can soak up the beauty of the Okavango Delta from the sky, or seek out the zebra migration in the Magkgadigadi with Helicopter Horizons. A scenic flight above the Victoria Falls is another awe inspiring experience to be had!

San Bushman Experience
A small collection of quality lodges in Botswana offer a truly authetic San Bushman experience, which is undoubtedly one of the most unforgetable activities available. You can meet and spend time with these extraordinary people at Camp Kalahari, Jacks Camp, San Camp, Dinaka, Evolve Back Kalahari, Moela Camp and Great Tsau Camp. Tsodilo Hills in the western side of Botswana near the Namibian border also have a San settlement where you can also explore the bushman paintings rock art.
The San Bushmen are Southern Africa's oldest inhabitants, with roots in Botswana dating back over 20,000 to 40,000 years, originally living as hunter-gatherers in small egalitarian family groups.

Quad Biking on the Makgadikgadi Pans
Guided quad biking is available on the Ntwetwe (Makgadi) Pans when booking a stay at Planet Baobab, Camp Kalahari, Jacks Camp or San Camp. An truly exhilarating way to explore the vastness of this area.

Meerkats
Book a stay with us at either Planet Baobab, Camp Kalahari, San Camp or Jack's Camp in the Ntwetwe Pans region and enjoy a visit to their closely monitored habituated meerkat colony. A very special experience for all ages!

Horse Riding
There are a number of horse riding operators in the region, with rides ranging from a couple of hours in Maun and Victoria Falls, through to multi-day safari stays in the Okavango Delta, Makgadikgadi, Victoria Falls and out of Livingstone. Namibia and South Africa also offer somes fabulous riding opportunities. Contact us for more info if this is your thing!

Zebra Migration
Botswana hosts the second largest zebra migration in Africa. During the summer months between November and March thousands of zebra, wildbeest and their attendant predators trek from as far as north as Linyanti in Namibia, the Chobe Waterfront and Savuti down south into the Nxai and Ntwetwe Pans region of the Makgadikgadi where they spend the summer having their young and grazing on the nutrient rich grasses. As winter approaches and the natural rain-fed water pans dry up the herds move back north. A second migration happens at the same time with animals moving out of the Boteti River/Khumaga region travelling east across the Makgadikgadi Pans National Park to spend the summer on the Ntwetwe Pans, journeying back west as winter starts around May to spend the winter at the Boteti River.

Motorboating
One of the most exhilerating ways to experience the Okavango Delta is by motorboat. Many lodges and camps offer motorboating as a three hour activity during your stay (water levels permitting). Another option is to book a multi-day inner Delta camping/motorboating safari which run between one and 10+ nights, as required. Day trips are also available out of Maun during the high water season (approximately June/July and November) depending on local annual flood conditions.
The motorboating excursion offered from Kasane on the Chobe River is another excellent activity into the Chobe National Park.

Houseboats
For those that fancy living on the water, there are two locations in Botswana where you can soak up the raw beauty of nature - either out of Shakawe, where the gorgeous Okavango Spirit and Kubu Queen are moored. The Chobe Princesses and their big sister operate out of Kasane, mooring on the Chobe river, Namibian side. Spending 3 or more nights is a must, and a truly magical way to explore the waterways of Botswana's large river systems.
Lake Kariba in Zimbabwe is famously known for its Kariba Houseboat culture, and with a large number of boats available, there are plenty of options there as well to suit your group size.

Mokoro Excursions
Mokoros are the traditional dugout canoe-type of river transport around Botswana's waterways. Originally made out of indiginous local trees, these days most mokoros in use are a plastic moulded variety. Propelled with a long pole (ngashi) from the back, your guide will quietly take you through the shallow channels of the Okavango. Mokoro activities are available at most Delta camps and lodges, with full day trips and multi-day mokoro/walking safaris available out of Maun.
